1. Reading the Bible honors your body by:⠀
Leading you toward habits that protect your health.⠀
Reducing stress and bringing peace.⠀
Encouraging rest and balance.⠀
Inspiring forgiveness and relational healing.⠀
Helping you exercise self-control.⠀
Reminding you that caring for your body is part of worship.⠀
2. In Genesis, we learn that God created everything we need to survive — food, water, and natural resources. ⠀
3. I believe that alcohol is poison to your body, mind, soul and life. I hold tight to 1 Peter 5:8 "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."⠀
4. The Bible celebrates strength, hard work, and diligence — all of which are developed through physical effort. Proverbs 31:17 “She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks." Exercise builds the stamina to serve God and others well.⠀
5. In Genesis 1:3–5, 14–18, God creates light, separates day from night, and makes the sun to “give light on the earth.” This shows that sunlight was part of God’s design for sustaining life. Plants, animals, and humans all depend on it.⠀
6. Think of the Bible as the “manufacturer’s guide”: It tells us how we’re designed and how to take care of God's creation.⠀
7. God provides water to sustain physical life — showing it’s something He cares about. Psalm 65:9 says, “You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly.” This shows God’s active role in giving water for life and growth.⠀
8. Sleep is regenerative and the time when your body repairs, releases, and realigns. Psalm 127:2 “He gives His beloved sleep.”⠀
9. Things that damage, kill and alter do not belong in or on my body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, instructs believers to honor God with their bodies, which implies a responsibility to avoid harmful substances and to live in a way that is healthy and life-giving.⠀
10. We aren't called to "hustle". God's word emphasizes rest as essential, modeling it through the Sabbath creation account and providing a call to rest in Jesus's invitation in Matthew 11:28-30
